This Morning

So this morning...
I left for class a little late. The walk from my place to the JFSB is about 10 minutes at a leisurely pace. I like leisurely.
My class started at 9:30am.
I left at 9:26am.
Not ten minutes.
I had a paper due at 9:30am. As class begins you turn in your paper. Not a minute later. Thus, I HURRIED. I ran down the street, made the crosswalk by cutting across the grass, went barreling past the MOA, and awkwardly jogged past the library. I got to class at 9:29:31. My paper was on time.

Through this experience I gained some knowledge.

  • Running in flat shoes makes a lot of noise as they slap against the pavement
  • Running with a backpack full of books is not fun and makes you look like a geek
  • I already am a geek so that's cool

Anyway, I got my exercise for the week so that's one thing off my list.

I'm excited for plans

It's Friday. That fact always seems to be able to boost everyone's spirit. I know it's made me happy.

It's a three day weekend. That fact also seems to make people happy. Myself included. This weekend I plan on having a sleepover in the kitchen with my roommates while watching a scary movie. I plan on going to my little sisters race on Saturday. I plan on going to dinner with my family after Caroline's race. I plan on going to church and learning of Christ and feeling happy. I plan on going to dinner with some friends from my building Sunday afternoon. I then plan on driving up to Logan to spend some more time with my family. I plan on going skiing at the Beav with my family on Monday. Then I will drive back down to Provo and enjoy the company of the great people down here. I also plan on getting homework done in there somewhere.

I'm excited for plans.

In the past month I have...

  • Taken a road trip to Salt Lake to do baptisms with very good friends.
  • Completed my first semester of college
  • Survived finals week at BYU
  • Received an early Birthday gift from my roommates. I LOVE ANASTASIA
  • Turned 19 (on December 18th)
  • Spent a weekend in Logan with my wonderful Frost family
  • Reunited with old friends
  • Read books because I wanted to, not because I had to
  • Gave my sister the same scarf that I had recently received (oh hey Rebecca)
  • Received too many wonderful gifts
  • Spent an entire day with extended family on both sides
  • Attempted to play "Sleigh Ride" with a very talented aunt
  • Said goodbye to a close friend who is doing great things while serving the Lord
  • Played racquetball with my brother Spencer and my Dad. (I admit defeat)
  • Watched "Legend of the Guardians, Owls of Gahoole," "Despicable Me," and "Inception" with my family. (The listing goes from worst to best)
  • Aided my little sister Caroline in her recovery from wisdom teeth removal
  • Laughed and my little sister Caroline during her recovery from wisdom teeth removal
  • Teased my little sister Caroline about her recovery from wisdom teeth removal
  • Gone snowshoeing with my family on New Years Eve
  • Said goodbye to my family and have returned to Provo
  • Started up my second semester at BYU

This is also the scarf I had just bought for my sister. To my surprise and happiness, my roommate gave it to me the day after I purchased Rebecca's.

Home again, home again, jiggety jig.

Slumber Party!

On Friday night the occupants of 2312 did something really fun. Let me paint the picture....

3 mattresses in the kitchen.
6 girls vying for a place to sleep.
3 of the girls in footie pajamas.
1 small Christmas tree lit up in the corner.
5 strands of colored Christmas lights twinking from the window.
Dozens of paper snowflakes dangling from the ceiling.
6 fortune tellings.
1 attempt of murder (Ariel didn't like my singing).
1 bedtime story told by Amanda in which a princess named Catherine, whose friends were paid to spend time with her, makes friends with a peasant girl named Rachel from the edge of Pauperville. They are almost eaten by the witch Amanda but are saved by lovely girls named Ariel, Bridget, and Kate. They all get married (to whom I cannot say) and live happily ever after.

That story basically sums up our apartment.

How did I get so lucky with my roommates?

Equal Love

This post is dedicated to the love I have for my sister Rebecca Weiler Burningham. I love her just as much as Caroline. I enjoy going to work because she's there. I am going to miss her when she leaves. I enjoyed seeing her on Wednesday while I was trying to give blood. Unfortunately she had had a bad day. I bought her a Jamba Juice (actually Dad did. Thanks Dad). Then we went and looked at earrings in the ever expensive craft and floral store in the Wilkinson Center. It's always fun to see her on campus and I'm glad she is here because I love her. Just as much as Caroline.

C-Gull Fly, C-Gull Run

I've posted about this before but here it is again. My little sister, Caroline (aka C-Gull), is a runner. She made it onto the All-State team as a freshman, and this weekend she is traveling to California to participate in the Footlocker race which includes runners from a majority of the western states. Good luck CJ!
